Katsushika Hokusai

Katsushika Hokusai worked across painting, drawing and print design. In the postscript to One Hundred Views of Mount Fuji, he described a lifelong ambition to make each mark feel alive. His Academy episodes explore framing, contour and the relation of a small foreground detail to a vast landscape.
